Two more requests...

I made out two more requests today. One for Linda Derouchie's death certificate - in hopes of trying to find out where she is buried. The other is for a marriage certificate of my paternal grandparents, Robert Smith & Elizabeth Rivait.

Good luck in your search.
I have Derouchie on my mother's side, and it's been an adventure making sense of everything.

I checked out your family tree, and saw that our Derouchies come from the same general area (mine is Napoleon Derouchie, son of Louis Derouchie and Elmire Poirier)--Napoleon was also known as Paul, and he died in either Massena or Ft. Covington.

I'd be happy to share my info if you're interested.

Thank you for your comment!

I have contacted my Great Uncle to see if he recognizes the name of Napoleon. He has tons of information on the Derouchie line but I tend to be a bit uptight and prefer to have documents instead of just yanking whatever someone posts online! hehe.

The url you told me in another post, he has shown me that too. I found some obituaries there and have yet to update my homepage. I keep meaning to but I just keep putting it aside.

Out of curiosity, I went there to see if I could find anything on Napoleon Derouchie.

Under "FRANKLIN COUNTY" ---

I found the obituary for his wife, dated "Thursday January 4, 1968"

I found an article dated May 27, 1976 that features Napoleon Derouchie:

I can't seem to find an obituary for him though. I wonder if he left the area before he died?

There were other interesting articles. It seems Napoleon was found guilty for manslaughter and sentenced to jail for 11 months, he lost a couple fingers due to a saw accident, and I believe one article said his son died at 16 years of age.
