Northeastern Smiths DNA Project (http://www.smithconnections.com)
I have received e-mails from a couple people over the past few years about this site because of my Smith line. However, I've always had to delete the e-mails because paying for the test just wasn't possible.
A few weeks back, I took a gander at the site and saw that there was a sale. Believe it or not - An order was made tonight!
My father will be the one tested and I can't wait to see the results.

Carie Rivit - Stephen J. Rivait?
I'm going to have to figure out how the puzzle pieces work.
A birth registration came today from the Addison town clerk. It's for a male named Carie Rivit that was born October 18, 1876. His parents are Julius and Josephine (Moro) Rivit. Julius was born in Canada and Josephine was born in Fort Ann, New York.
Stephen J Rivait's tombstone says he was born 1876.
There's an 1880 census of Waltham, Addison County, Vermont that lists Stephen as 4 years of age.
I think it's safe to say that his original name was Carie before his parents changed it to Stephen before 1880. I'm still debating on whether or not using it on the site... but the parents are there and all. I guess I'll just have to pop it in as an interesting factoid.
As for what his middle initial could mean, I'm not sure. I was told that it was for Joseph but an Uncle came out of the blue and said it is for Julius.

Updated Site
Got the site updated with some new information. I felt overwhelmed at first but once I looked over the family tree and remembered a lot of things, the update kinda went smoothly. I got most of the new stuff up. I'll still be updating, I'm sure... hehe.
